Welcome
One of Charlotte’s finest restaurants, Barrington’s is 2009 James Beard Award semi-finalist Bruce Moffett’s flagship restaurant. Open since 2000, local ingredients are found throughout the seasonal menu and the personally selected wine list changes to emphasize each new menu. The restaurant has been named “Tops for Food in Charlotte” by ZAGAT’s Guide every year since 2003, was named one of the top 11 restaurants in the country by AOL, received 4 out of 4 stars in the Charlotte Observer and ranked in the top three restaurants in Charlotte by Charlotte magazine in 2016. Reservations are recommended for the intimate dining room.

Chef Bruce Moffett grew up in the small town of Barrington, Rhode Island. He attended the University of Rhode Island and studied Political Science. Upon graduating, he worked for 6 years in Washington, DC for US Senator John Chafee and various trade organizations.
In 1992, Bruce decided that he no longer wanted to pursue a career in politics and moved to Charlotte, NC and opened a small Pizza restaurant. Realizing the difficult nature of the restaurant business, Bruce sold his restaurant and enrolled in the Culinary Institute of America (CIA), Hyde Park in 1993.
After graduating the CIA with honors, Moffett moved to Atlanta and joined the culinary staff of the Cherokee Town & County Club where he cooked for 2 years.
In 1997, Bruce moved to Boston, MA and took a position in one of the city’s most prestigious restaurants, L’Espalier. After working there for 2 years, Bruce moved to another Boston favorite, Metropolis Café located in the trendy South End neighborhood. There he worked his way up to executive chef.
In 2000, Bruce moved to Charlotte to be closer to family and to fulfill his dream of once again owing a restaurant. He opened Barrington’s in October of 2000 has been successful operating ever since. In the restaurant he works along side his brother Kerry and his dedicated staff who have been with him, for the most part since the restaurants inception.
