Smokin’ Oyster Brewery—affectionately known as SOB—has been a beloved fixture on Fort Myers Beach since its establishment in 1997. Originally a renovated Florida home, it quickly became renowned for its casual island atmosphere, live music, and signature seafood dishes like oysters on the half shell, garlic crab legs, and coconut shrimp. The restaurant's motto, “Happiness is Great Food, Cold Drinks and Good Friends,” encapsulates its community-focused spirit. Hurricane Ian devastated the area in 2022, forcing SOB to close its doors. After extensive renovations, SOB opened in December 2024 and had its grand reopening to celebrate with the locals on May 16, 2025.
