Originally a renovated Florida home, it quickly became renowned for its casual island atmosphere, live music, and signature seafood dishes like oysters on the half shell, garlic crab legs, and coconut shrimp. The restaurant's motto, “Happiness is Great Food, Cold Drinks and Good Friends,” encapsulates its community-focused spirit.
Hurricane Ian devastated the area in 2022, forcing SOB to close its doors.
After extensive renovations, SOB opened in December 2024 and had its grand reopening to celebrate with the locals on May 16, 2025. The revitalized establishment retains its signature charm, featuring a blend of original staff and new team members, a refreshed menu, and the same welcoming ambiance that has endeared it to patrons for decades.
