VisitRib City started as a small family barbecue joint on U.S. 41 in Fort Myers, Florida in 1989. Its success quickly led to expansion, opening a second location in Cape Coral in 1990.
By 1992, they moved to a larger location in Fort Myers and partnered with restaurateur Paul Peden. That year, they also opened a Rib City in Fort Myers Beach, and the legend began to grow. Expansion continued throughout Florida, bringing their award-winning Baby Back Ribs to new counties and communities.
Over the next 25 years, Rib City opened multiple locations, becoming a beloved staple for Floridians and visitors alike.
In 2004, Rib City began franchising, expanding beyond Florida with restaurants opening in Colorado, Washington, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia.
