Executive Chef Patrick Langdon Owens
Patrick Langdon Owens was born in Charleston on November 23, 1975. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant surrounded by eclectic southern food and music. Owens graduated from Wando High School as a North/South Football All-star and went on to Clemson University, where he graduated in 1999 with a degree in Marketing.
Owens crafted his unique culinary style and taste throughout his formative years. He worked in several local restaurants as a teenager and was a fixture around the grill during social get-togethers. At the same time, Owens developed a love of music. Soon Owens, following in his father's musical footsteps, began playing guitar professionally. After graduating from college, Owens attempted to pursue both his musical and culinary dreams. Owens worked as a solo private caterer and directed events with the Charleston Bay Gourmet catering company. He also worked in several kitchens in Charleston including periods with Circa 1886 and Magnolia's, all the while honing the distinctive flavor that marks his cooking today. When he wasn't in a kitchen, Owens played music at venues across the southeast. His dreams soon conflicted, and Owens chose to dedicate himself to becoming a full-time chef.
Langdon's Restaurant and Wine Bar is the culmination of Owens' dreams. The food and decor reflect his Charleston heritage. Langdon's strives to create a modem tradition that incorporates diverse Asian taste with a markedly Southern palate. The friendly, inviting, and relaxed atmosphere and the excellent menu selections echo Owens' personality and flair. Owens plans to continue creating superb dishes to excite the senses and delight even the most sophisticated patrons.
